The 1 billion$ House

Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani welcomed guests into his new 27-story Mumbai home, thought to be the world’s most expensive private residence with a $1 billion price tag.

Antilia is the architectural pride of Mumbai and is termed as the Taj Mahal of the 21st century. Home to the billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family, Antilia is a 27 floor marvel at Altamont Road, South Mumbai. Antilia is considered as the world’s most expensive home and is designed by U.S architects following the principles of Vaastu Shastra to ensure the flow of positive energy.

Antilia is a truly unique home with some extraordinary features. No two floor plans in this building are alike. The parking can hold upto 168 cars and an entire floor has been dedicated to vehicle maintenance facility. There are 9 elevators in the lobby. Antilia has its own helipad and air traffic control facility. An ice room with man-made snow flurries has also been built.

Mukesh Ambani, his wife, two children and his mother currently reside in Antilia. A 600 member strong staff takes care of the house’s maintenance.

His Reliance Industries, already India’s most valuable company, recently bid $2 billion for 65% stake in troubled Canadian oil sands outfit Value Creation. Firm’s $14.5 billion offer to buy bankrupt petrochemicals maker LyondellBasell was rejected. Since September company has sold treasury shares worth $2 billion to be used for acquisitions. Late father, Dhirubhai, founded Reliance and built it into a massive conglomerate. After he died, Mukesh and his brother, Anil, ran the family business together for a brief time. But siblings feuded over control; mother eventually brokered split of assets, with Mukesh getting oil and gas and petrochemicals businesses. Still at odds with Anil over gas supply agreement; awaiting Supreme Court’s final ruling. Has yet to move out of the family’s high-rise, which he shares with his brother, into his new 27-story home in downtown Mumbai. Owns cricket team Mumbai Indians.

The Karmasheetra

Let’s face it, some of us you have trouble in the bedroom. Just ask your previous lovers. Don’t worry, I’m not going to tell anyone, ever. Except the whole internet, right now. Well, now that it’s all out in the open (your mom knows too and she‘s really disappointed you didn’t save yourself for marriage), you should try and shake things up with the Karmasheetra. The bed sheet is printed with colored figures to display where to put butts, hands and feets during sexy time. No guide for the privates though, so I guess that aspect is just a free-for-all. Shockingly, the bed sheet that your rump, goods and god knows what else graced is deemed non returnable. Because ya nasty! $32

Tree-climbing goats

In Morocco, the native Tamri goats are so enticed by the berries of Argan trees that they have become adept at climbing the branches to reach their food. Even stranger still, the goats’ droppings contain seed kernels which local farmers then grind into an oil that is used in cooking and cosmetics.

Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse

As authorities investigate whether the deadly collapse of a stage at the Indiana State Fair this past weekend was preventable, an official timeline brings the question into sharper focus.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels said it did not appear that such a tragedy could have been predicted. “I’m not clear how anyone could have foreseen a sudden, highly localized blast of wind,” he said.

But Mike Smith, senior vice president of AcuWeather Enterprise solutions, told Rolling Stone he thinks the tragedy could have been prevented, if not the stage’s collapse. “Everyone keeps saying that this was a fluke — that it couldn’t have been foreseen,” he said. “It was quite forseeable. The State Fair should have had someone making a call that if a weather warning was issued, the area would have been evacuated immediately.”
